Meet Shirley
I’m a board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) and advanced practice nurse with over 30 years of experience in maternal and infant health. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2020, building on my MSN from Virginia Commonwealth University and BSN from Adelphi University.
Throughout my career, I’ve supported families through the breastfeeding journey—whether they’re navigating the early days, overcoming challenges, or simply looking for guidance. I specialize in developing personalized lactation care plans, working with complex cases, and advocating for compassionate, evidence-based perinatal care.
I’ve had the privilege of working in diverse healthcare settings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide family-centered support. Education is also a core part of my work—I’m passionate about training other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality lactation care.
My goal is simple: to empower you with the knowledge and confidence to meet your breastfeeding goals—without pressure or judgment. Your journey is uniquely yours, and I’m honored to walk alongside you. Together, we’ll create a plan that works for you and your baby—because when families feel supported, they thrive.
