Full Spectrum Birth Justice Certification Training
This certifying program is held over 5 days total. Once complete you will be certified.
The schedule is as follows:
6:00pm to 9pm on Friday 10/27 (Friday)
8:30am to 5:30pm both 10/28 & 10/29 (Saturday and Sunday)
AND
6:00pm to 9pm on Friday 11/3 (Friday)
8:30am to 5:30pm both 11/4 & 11/5 (Saturday and Sunday)
Loss Support Series: Classes for Doulas
In collaboration with MuMoMA, Sokana Collective presents a comprehensive, trauma-informed care and diversity centered 3 hours class directed to doulas and folks already doing the work in our communities.
This is a 3 part VIRTUAL series:
Class 1: June 17th - Perinatal Loss
Class 2: July 22nd - Fertility Loss
Class 3: August 12th - Abortion Loss
The class goals are:
-Understanding Perinatal Loss. General information on what Perinatal Loss looks like, and different management approaches people might experience.
-Accompanying Loss. Evaluating our support roles, exchange skills, comfort measures, and best practices to support people through their loss experiences
-Explore your community role!
This class is being facilitated by Jacoba who is a Sexual and Reproductive Health specialist with over 20 years of expierence.

Sokana’s 2nd annual Posters, Prosecco and Pajamas is back! Let’s make our goals for 2023 together by creating vision boards. Come sip, create and collaborate. All materials included in the fee.
Perinatal Education & Infant Feeding
In this class we will go over the fundamentals of preparing for labor and delivery, postpartum care and infant feeding.
The cost is $250 per couple. Sliding fee scale available.

A Mo' Empowered Birth Class: Led by Mo Sparkman, Community Birthworker
Course Summary
This childbirth class is designed to honor the wisdom, strength, and intuition that already lives within you. Through interactive learning, Birthing from Within practices, and evidence-based information, we will explore labor, birth, and postpartum from a holistic perspective. You’ll leave this class feeling supported and empowered to navigate your unique birth journey with clarity and confidence, as well as the necessary skills and tools needed for advocacy and informed decision-making. Finally, we will end with a small celebration to honor the parent you are becoming.
