Meet Melody
My name is Melody Fevrier and I am originally from the Caribbean island Saint Lucia. My heart still vibes in the tropical island but I currently live in Chicago and have warmed up to the experience of the four seasons and city life. I completed my Full Spectrum Doula training through Sabia Wade’s program Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings (BADT). Prior to my work as a doula I studied to be trained as a classical violinist and music teacher, have worked in afterschool programs and summer camps with kids ages 5-12 and currently volunteer with an organization focused on providing consciousness, emotional intelligence and mindfulness practices to teachers, students and families. I’ve been passionate about birth work and reproductive justice for a long time and I strive to provide care that is rooted in compassion, honors the full experience of birth and ushering or letting go of human life, as well as the transitions that one experiences becoming a parent, new family or any of the in between. I aim to be curious, honest, grounded and create spaces and avenues for one to feel whole in whatever journey they are walking. I provide service in fertility, pregnancy, labor/birth, postpartum, lactation and abortion. I believe everyone deserves the care they need and that we shouldn’t do this alone. Life truly starts in the family, and I wish to be present in those moments for others. In my free time I write and read poetry, enjoy cooking a scrumptious meal and meditate daily.
