Meet Maggy
Hi, I’m Maggy
I am a birth & postpartum doula whose practice is rooted in body autonomy, trauma-informed care, and reproductive justice. Before becoming a doula, I served a year-long AmeriCorps term at a maternity home in Phoenix, AZ, where I lived with seven pregnant and parenting women who were previously unhoused and supported them through their pregnancy and parenting journey.
As a queer birth worker, I am passionate about inclusive and affirming care for all families, including LGBTQ+ parents, single parents, and those with diverse cultural backgrounds and lived experiences.
Originally from rural Iowa, I recently graduated from the University of Chicago with my Master of Social Work degree. In addition to doula work, I am a case manager at a housing rights nonprofit. In my free time, I love trying new restaurants in the city with friends, walking on the lakefront, and watching live music!
