Meet Kayla

Hi, I’m Kayla.

I am a mother of six and a grandmother of four. I started my journey to become a Doula back in 2019. I initially wanted to become a Postpartum Doula because I battled with postpartum depression  after the births of my last two children. I had a long three years fighting postpartum depression and when I finally came out on the other side I knew I wanted to become a Postpartum Doula. I wanted to support new Mom’s during their postpartum period (the fourth trimester) because I knew first hand how it felt to be alone and unsupported in that postpartum period and I NEVER wanted any mom to experience that feeling.

I took Birth Doula training so I would be better prepared when I took my Postpartum Doula training. The first day of Birth Doula training, I fell in love with the thought of being a Birth Doula and decided that I would do both… A Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula and somewhere in between I’ve also added Placenta Encapsulated  Specialist.

In the six years that I’ve been I’ve been a Doula  I’ve successfully supported over one hundred families during pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum periods. I’ve supported in hospital in hospital births as well as home births. I have supported twin births, cesarean births and high risk births.

In September 2024 I went back for additional training through Sokana Collective and I am very proud to say I am a CERTIFIED FULL SPECTRUM BIRTH JUSTICE DOULA.

I truly believe that Birth-work is my calling and I look forward to supporting you and your family during your pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum periods.
