4th Annual Birth and... Monologues The Stories Our Bodies Carry

What does your body remember?

The joy. The grief. The becoming. The breaking open. The healing. The moments we talk about—and the ones we carry quietly.

Join Sokana Collective for the 4th Annual Birth and... Monologues: The Stories Our Bodies Carry, an intimate afternoon of storytelling, reflection, and connection centered on the many experiences that shape our reproductive lives.

Through a series of personal monologues, storytellers will share experiences of pregnancy, birth, abortion, loss, fertility, parenthood, identity, trauma, healing, and everything in between. These are stories about more than what happened to our bodies—they are stories about who we became because of what happened to our bodies.

Following the monologues, we’ll gather for a moderated conversation exploring the emotional, physical, mental, and holistic dimensions of reproductive health and wellness. Together, we’ll consider what it means to care for the whole person and create space for experiences that are too often left unspoken.

This is an afternoon to listen deeply, feel honestly, and connect meaningfully.

Come for the stories. Stay for the conversation. Leave with a deeper understanding of the stories our bodies carry.

In collaboration with Zora’s Place + The Aux Wellness Collective.

🎟️ Tickets are pay-what-you-can, with a $50 suggested contribution.
Light refreshments will be served.

Be Part of the Stories

Have a story to share?

We’re inviting people to submit personal monologues inspired by their experiences with pregnancy, birth, abortion, loss, fertility, parenthood, identity, healing, or the many experiences that shape our reproductive lives.

Your story doesn’t have to be perfect or polished. We’re interested in the honest, complicated, joyful, difficult, and deeply human experiences that often go unspoken.

Selected monologues will be shared during the event and read aloud by volunteer readers.

Want to Be a Reader?

Not ready to share your own story? You can still help bring someone else’s story to life.

We’re looking for volunteer readers who can approach each monologue with care, intention, and respect. Readers will be matched with a submitted story and will have the opportunity to help create a meaningful experience for both the storyteller and the audience.

Your story matters. Your voice matters. And sometimes, being willing to listen is just as powerful as being willing to speak.
