Meet Emily
Birth work has been a passion of mine for well over a decade, specifically birth and postpartum education and advocacy. My goal is to create well-informed consent by giving birthing people the knowledge about the decisions they need to make, and then helping them advocate for those decisions. I spent my late teens with family members who were birth doulas, and taught me about the reality of birth experiences in our country, and I became powerfully interested in helping to change that. I began to attend births and act as doula eleven years ago, and trained with DONA in 2018. Over these years, I have continued to serve as a birth doula for family, friends, and word of mouth clients. Recently, I left middle school teaching to become a lactation consultant, and decided to also continue to return to my heart work of helping parents see their worth, both during birth and beyond. I have just certified with Sokana in 2025, and look forward to continuing my journey with birth justice and continued advocacy. I hope to create a warm relationship with my clients, where trust and communication can help to achieve feelings of empowerment, safety, and autonomy as they transition into parenthood.
