Meet Emily

I spent 10 years after graduating from Northwestern University working as a mentor to college students and helping them navigate a significant transition in their lives. I was always interested in the healthcare field though (I observed my first birth as a pre-med student!) and when I learned about doulas I saw a great possibility of continuing to help people navigate transition and providing holistic support to them during a time of great transformation. I went through Doula Trainings International's full spectrum doula training in 2021 and have worked as a birth doula in Orlando and Chicago since then.

I believe birth is a beautiful and transformative time in a person’s life and affects people not just physically but also emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. But many people don't have the support or care that they need - which is why doulas can be so significant! I desire to journey with people holistically, holding space so that people are seen, supported, and empowered in each step of the journey and may experience flourishing during the time around birth!

You can learn more about me at: holdinghopebirth.com When I'm not supporting births, I enjoy running outside all year round and training for marathons!

I have also attended a Spinning Babies class for continuing education.
